Ebu Collectives Commend Buhari For Appointing Prof. Okodudu, Acting UNIPORT VC

President Muhammadu Buhari has been commended for appointing a Delta-born Professor of Sociology, Stephen Okodudu as Acting Vice Chancellor of the University of Port Harcourt, Rivers State.

The appointment was described as a recognition of excellence as Prof. Okodudu has contributed immensely to the growth of education through his research works.

A Delta-based socio-economic group, Ebu Collectives, gave the commendation in a statement that was exclusively made available to newsden.com.ng in Asaba, Delta State.

According to the statement signed by Dr Kemi Emina and Sir Philip Ulakatu, President and Project Operations Secretary of the organisation respectively, the appointment of Prof. Okodudu was well deserved and President Buhari had proven that he recognises excellence.

“It was with great joy that we received the news of the appointment of Prof. Stephen Agochi Okodudu as Acting Vice Chancellor of University of Port Harcourt (UNIPORT).

“Prof. Okodudu is renowned for his academic prowess and has contributed immensely to the growth of education in Nigeria and beyond.

“As a lecturer in the Department of Sociology, Faculty of Social Sciences of UNIPORT, we are confident that as a good manager of man and other resources, he will deploy his wealth of experience to boost the status of UNIPORT.

“We are confident that in the next couple of months, President Buhari will confirm this Delta State-born Professor as substantive Vice-Chancellor of the University as he is a round peg in a round hole.”

Members of Ebu Collectives also, congratulated Prof. Okodudu on the appointment and urged him to continue to uphold the tenets that has distinguished him in the ivory towers.

A statement signed by Dr Emina who is also, the Odiega of Ebu Kingdom expressed confidence that the Acting V-C would move the University to greater heights.

“Dear Prof Stephen A.Okodudu, hearty congratulations on your appointment as Acting Vice Chancellor.

“I wish, on behalf of the entire members of Ebu Collectives, warmly rejoice with you, our worthy brother and member on your recent appointment by the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria,Muhammadu Buhari as the Acting Vice Chancellor of University of Port Harcourt.

“Worthy member, you have carried the banner and worthy principles of Ebu Collectives and that of our community aloft, beyond boundaries, positively projecting our image of selflessness, excellence,integrity,resourcefulness and conscientiousness.

“We are proud of you and wish you a future of greater promises and possibilities as you lead the University of Port Harcourt to greater heights.

“Congrats,’Akpeli Nina ‘ and Worthy Ambassador as we assure you of our prayers and support,” it said.

Some members of the organisation include, Mrs Shimite Bello (Ist Vice President), Engr Yobo Ideh (Secretary), Hon Uche Egbuche, Mr Akpeli Kimashinor Nwakalo (Legal Adviser), Mr Akpeli Tony Okoaye (Chairman, BOT), Mrs Moji Ikolodo (National Financial Secretary), Mrs Christy Akpabio (Member, Board of Trustees).
