The Deputy Governor of Delta State, Sir Monday Onyeme, Ph.D., and astute political leader, Rear Admiral Mike Onah, OON, have expressed confidence that all candidates of the All Progressives Congress (APC) will emerge victorious in the 2027 general elections.

They spoke on Friday at the inauguration of Akunede Amazons for APC, a political pressure group primarily made up of women. The group was formed following the emergence of Chief Princewill Olie who is popularly known as Akunede as the APC candidate for the Ndokwa West Constituency, Delta State House of Assembly.
The event took place in Kwale, Ndokwa West Local Government Area of Delta State.
Deputy Governor Onyeme, who was represented at the occasion by Chief Godday Mgbabego, Executive Assistant to Governor Sheriff Oborevwori on Political Matters, said, “we have a President in the person of Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, and our Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, is doing well. Therefore, we should vote for all APC candidates.
”We are aware that someone is claiming ownership of a Federal Government-sponsored Rural Electrification Project and using it as his sole campaign topic as if he is the sponsor of the electricity project while belonging to another political party.
”His activities and those of others in the opposition show they are pleased with the success stories of our President, Asiwaju Tinubu.
“We hope that before the elections, they will return to the APC so that we can all remain united under the leadership of President Bola Tinubu.”
Also speaking, Rear Admiral Onah asserted, “we pray that we continue in this unity so that Ndokwa will witness speedy development.
”With the unity we are witnessing across the Ndokwa nation, especially in Ndokwa West, I am happy that we are speaking with one voice.
“This gathering of elites shows that the Ndokwa people are politically awake.
”We are not in politics for noise-making; we are in politics because it brings development to our communities; in 2027, we will not make any political mistakes, we will cast our votes wisely and vote for all APC candidates.”
Hon. Nnamdi Ezechi, the member representing Ndokwa/Ukwuani Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, assured members of Akunede Amazons that their efforts would not be in vain and urged them to ensure total support for the party.
”Come 2027, a vote for APC is a vote for a progressive Ndokwa nation,” Hon. Ezechi stated.
Hon. Charles Emetulu, representing Ndokwa West Constituency in the Delta State House of Assembly, noted: “With 8,000 canvassers in the Akunede Amazons and each canvasser convincing just five people, we will secure at least 40,000 votes through this group alone.
“All APC candidates are strong, marketable products, and we are happy with this development.”
The Deputy Chairman of APC for Delta North Senatorial District, Engr. Dan Ossai, added, “politics is a game of numbers, and with this group, our numbers are growing.
“Thank you, and we will continue to support your activities.”
Other dignitaries who spoke included Chief Festus Ochonogor, who remarked, “politics is dynamic, as evident in what we are witnessing today; the Akunede Amazons and the Girl-Child Ambassadors are doing exceptionally well; women should keep working hard because politics belongs to them, so we can achieve a 5-in-5 victory for all APC candidates.”
The Executive Secretary of the Delta State Security Trust Fund, Barr. Sam Osasa, observed that Chief Princewill Olie is demonstrating strong leadership as a House of Assembly candidate.
”For a House of Assembly candidate to mobilize at the grassroots level like this shows we will perform strongly in the next election.
“Chief Princewill Olie, you are doing well; keep it up.
“Members of Akunede Amazons, return to your units and wards to convince the few doubting Thomases that President Bola Tinubu deserves re-election because of his achievements,” Barr. Osasa said.
Chief Olie expressed gratitude to the political leaders and women for their support for his candidacy and the party as a whole, assuring the constituency of quality representation in the House of Assembly.
The Convener of Akunede Amazons, Mrs. Ijeoma Olie, stated in her address, “Akunede Amazons for APC is committed to promoting unity, women empowerment, grassroots participation, humanitarian services, and community development across Ndokwa West.”
