860 students from various institutions of higher learning have qualified for the 2026 edition of the Monday Onyeme Foundation Scholarship Scheme.
At the end of the qualifying aptitude test held for the Ndokwa/Ukwuani Federal Constituency over the weekend, 340 students passed.
It will be recalled that 212 students passed the aptitude test in the Ika Federal Constituency, while 301 passed in the Aniocha/Oshimili Federal Constituency.
With this figure, the foundation will spend more than N170 million on the successful candidates.
The scholarship scheme is sponsored by the Deputy Governor of Delta State, Sir Monday Onyeme, Ph.D.
Speaking on Sunday at Utagba-Ogbe Technical College, Kwale, the venue of the aptitude test for the Ndokwa/Ukwuani Federal Constituency, the Deputy Governor thanked God for the success stories witnessed through the scholarship scheme.
He noted that more students passed in this year’s edition, showing their level of preparedness for the qualifying examination.
The successful candidates in the Ndokwa/Ukwuani Federal Constituency emerged from a total of 863 students who sat for the examination in the Constituency.
Sir Onyeme, who personally supervised the administration and marking of the test, announced the names of the successful candidates.
According to him, all successful candidates will receive a cash prize of N200,000 each, while those who took the first, second, and third positions will receive N400,000, N350,000, and N300,000, respectively.
Sir Onyeme noted that “the top scorer from the three Federal Constituencies of Delta North will receive an extra N200,000 each while the second and third positions will get an extra N150,000 and N100,000, respectively.”
Agenu Miracle from Ukwuani took the first position with 51 marks; Agenu Junior and Enemuwe Chioma both tied for second position, while Enemuwe Ososam and Idowu Feyisayo placed third with 50 marks.
The top scorer, Agenu Miracle, while fielding questions from newsmen, expressed her appreciation to the Deputy Governor and the Monday Onyeme Foundation.
She noted that the aptitude test adds value to their academic pursuits, as the exercise encourages students to study and concentrate on their academic work.
