Less than 24 hours to the gubernatorial primary election of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Delta State, Sir Monday Onyeme, Ph.D., has expressed confidence that the election will witness a massive turnout of card carrying members of the party.

Addressing journalists shortly after casting his vote through the Option A4 system of voting in his Onicha-Ukwuani Ward, Ndokwa West Local Government Area of Delta State on Wednesday, Sir Onyeme stated that the gubernatorial primary election would send message of what should be expected during the general elections in 2027.
Beaming with smile with the results recorded in his Ward, he said, ‘you know that I am the Deputy to our workaholic Governor, a man who is loved by the people, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, so, the governorship primary election is my own election and in a lot of ways, our people are contesting the election, as such, I am confident that most of our people will turn out for the election and it will be replicated across the nooks and crannies of our state because we have done so much in meeting with our electoral promises, the yearnings of our people.
“So far, in my Ward, Onicha-Ukwuani, we have been recording unprecedented turnout of people coming out to be counted in the primary elections, this is good for democracy and I am very happy with the results.
“I thank our people for being so peaceful, conducting themselves very well as democrats who see themselves as members of one family; I hope that we will continue in this way and this peaceful conduct of election should be replicated in all parts of our state and the country.’
2, 010 votes was declared by the Returning Officer for the Ward, Mr Famous Ishicheli, despite the fact that Chief Princewill Olie was the sole aspirant for the House of Assembly position for Ndokwa West Local Government Area.
