A novel event, Afrobeat Cultural Festival, that seeks to leverage culture and afrobeat to crusade against social vices, among other things, is being organised by Gateway to Better Life Foundation Inc, in collaboration with DASH Foundation Inc, USA and Davido International Supporters Group (DIS-G). It holds on August 1, 2026.
Themed: “Celebrating the Impact of Davido on African Music, Youth Culture and National Unity”, the first of its kind event will take place at Uzoigwe Primary School, Nnebisi road, Asaba, at 12 noon prompt.
Specifically, the event aims at utilising the Afrobeat genre of music to crusade against and intervene for victims of drug abuse and addiction, raising awareness and advocating a safer, healthier society.
The fan-led cultural celebration, inspired by the legacy and influence of Davido, will feature Davido legacy recognition session, cultural parade, talent discovery, youths empowerment, anti-drug awareness campaign, musical performances, community impact recognition, and free medical outreach.
The climax will be the unveiling of the Davido Legacy Book, a publication chronicling the influence of Davido on African music, youth development and empowerment, and global entertainment.
Participants from the 25 Local Government Areas of Delta State and beyond are expected to attend the occasion.
