The Deputy Governor of Delta State, Sir Monday Onyeme, Ph.D., has called on Deltans to replicate the turnout for the gubernatorial primaries held on Thursday during the 2027 general elections.
Expressing joy at the large turnout of card-carrying members during the gubernatorial primaries of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Delta State despite the fact that Governor Sheriff Oborevwori was the sole aspirant for the position in the state, Sir Onyeme stated that the turnout was clear evidence that Deltans are happy with the administration.
The Deputy Governor said, “we just concluded the gubernatorial primary election of the APC in our state and I am very happy with the turnout.
“From what we just witnessed this morning in my ward and I believe that is what has been replicated across the state, it is evident that Deltans, and my people of Onicha-Ukwuani in particular, are in love with the administration of Governor Sheriff Oborevwori.
”With this massive turnout of members of the APC, especially in my Ward, we shall witness victory in the general elections, as this clearly shows that Deltans are for the APC.
”My people of Onicha-Ukwuani, thank you for proving that Onicha-Ukwuani speaks with one voice.
“Today, you have proven that we trust and believe in our working Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori.
”We are happy with the way you have been coming out to vote, from the House of Representatives, Senate, and House of Assembly to this massive turnout.
“Remember to come out like this again on Saturday to vote for the return of our President, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu.
”Thank you for supporting the APC because this is the party that will do more for us as a people; this is our own.”
The Returning Officer, Mr. Great Chika Omulu, who counted the people in line (as it was the Option A4 system of voting), said that 3,157 votes were recorded in Onicha-Ukwuani, Ward 5, by the time voting ended at 11:58 am.
