As Catholics celebrate World Mission Sunday, Rev. Fr. Ben Nwabuzor has called on Christians to prioritize their love for Jesus Christ, engage in practical evangelism, fulfill their civic responsibilities, and maintain steadfast faith in God regardless of life’s circumstances.
Delivering a Homily during the celebration of Holy Mass on Sunday at the Catholic Mass Centre, Maris Schools, Amachai, Okpanam, Oshimili North Local Government Area of Delta State, Fr. Nwabuzor reminded believers that their divine light is destined to shine continuously, irrespective of any challenges they may face.
He emphasized that Christians must place total trust in Almighty God, noting that God deserves complete devotion, alignment with His divine will, and unwavering faith.
”He is there with you; He knows everything about you; all that you need to do is pray, ‘God, let Your will be done.
“God is mysterious and forgiving; whether in difficult or good situations, always give God thanks, glory, and honor,” the Priest said.
Highlighting the essence of Mission Sunday, Fr. Nwabuzor stressed that every Christian is called to be a missionary through daily living, personal conduct, and active witness.
He noted that true evangelism is carried out not merely through preaching, but primarily through actions, integrity, and speech in everyday interactions, adding that spiritual strength and divine love blossom when brethren dwell in unity and proclaim the Word of God.
Fr. Nwabuzor urged the faithful to anchor their lives entirely on the Lord, asserting, “whatever you do, put God first in your life, let love for Christ be our foundation.”
The Holy Mass featured special thanksgiving session by parishioners.
