MOTHER’S DEATH: Onyeme, Okowa, Others Visit Obielum

Following the announcement of the death of Mrs Victoria Ossai Obielum, mother of renowned politician, Chief Godwill Obielum, politicians are visiting his house to condole with him.

Chief Obielum on Friday morning, announced that his mother passed on on Thursday evening.

The Deputy Governor of Delta State, Sir Monday Onyeme, FCA, led the political class from Ndokwa West to visit Chief Obielum on Friday evening at his residence in Asaba, Delta State.

Some of those who accompanied the Deputy Governor include Hon. Charles Emetulu, Rear Admiral Mike Onah, OON (rtd), Chief Festus Ochonogor, Hon. Sam Osasa, Hon. Azuka Azaka, Sir Christopher Osakwe, Chief Jeff Azagba, Hon. Obi Nzete, Chief Chuks Agidigbo, among others.

Delta State “Open for Business” Says Oborevwori

Rear Admiral Onah who spoke at the occasion said, “we are here to tell you to take heart.

“It is good that you have made a great mark in the history of Nigeria before the passage of your mother.

“Death is such that once it occurs, there is nothing that you can do other than to take heart.

“We want to assure you that as your brothers, we are solidly behind you, when you fix date for the burial; we are behind you as a group and as individuals.”

The Immediate past Governor of Delta State, Sen. Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa also, spent time with Chief Obielum, observing that there was no age for death to occur.

Sen. Okowa who was accompanied by Dr Festus Okubor said, “Chief Obielum, take heart, though, the death of a loved one, especially that of a mother can be very painful, your candour and approach to issues show that your mother was a good woman.

“There is no specific age for one to die, so, my brother, God will strengthen you and your relatives and be sure that we will always have you in our prayers.”

Also, Chief Nkem Okwuofu urged Chief Obielum to take solace in the fact that his mother lived a good life.

Omordi George Ugboma, also, paid his condolences and spoke mainly in Ndokwa as he is from the local government area with Chief Obielum.

The member representing Ndokwa/Ukwuani Federal Constituency at the National Assembly, Hon. Nnamdi Ezechi, Hon . Emeka Osamuta, Dr Kingsley Ashibuogwu, Joy Nwachukwu, among others have signed the condolence register as at the time of filing this report on Friday evening.
