The remains of Shimite Winifred Bello would be interred today at her home town, Ebu in Oshimili North Local Government Area of Delta State.
Yesterday a well-attended Service of Songs was held in her honour at the Dome Event Center, Asaba.
At the Service of Songs, Governor Sheriff Oborevwori was represented by the Secretary to Delta State Government, Dr Kingsley Emu, while the Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Emomotimi Guwor, and other top government functionaries were also in attendance.
Prof. Kemi Emina, the OdiEga of Ebu Community delivered a tribute on behalf of his community at the occasion.
Rev. Peter Maya in a sermon at the solemn ceremony, said that life is about the impact you make in the life of others.
He noted that though, Shimite lived for 48 years, she touched a lot of lives positively.
This morning, her remains would be interred at her family compound, Okemokuru Compound, Ebu.
Until her death on Monday, April 21, 2025 in a controversial circumstances, Shimite was the Special Adviser to Governor Sheriff Oborevwori on Trade and Export.
