The Catholic Priest in charge of the Catholic Mass Centre, Maris Schools, Okpanam, Rev. Fr. Andrew Mozia, has expressed deep condolences to Comrade Fidelis Egugbo and his family following the passing of his father-in-law, Okwa Johnson Ugbeleme.
Okwa Johnson Ugbeleme passed away peacefully at the age of 81 on Wednesday, July 8, 2026 after a brief illness.
In a condolence message delivered on behalf of the Catholic Mass Centre and the entire Maris Schools community, Rev. Fr. Mozia during the celebration of Holy Mass on Sunday morning, described the departure of a patriarch as a profound loss, but urged the family to take solace in the fulfilled life the deceased lived.
”At 81, Okwa Johnson Ugbeleme was blessed with the gift of longevity and lived to see generations.
“While we mourn his departure, we also celebrate a life well-spent in service to his family and community.
“We stand in prayerful solidarity with Comrade Egugbo, his wife, and the entire grieving family during this period of grief.
“Egugbo, let us know about the burial programme.”
Rev. Fr. Mozia prayed for the peaceful repose of the soul of the departed and asked God to grant Comrade Egugbo and the extended family the fortitude, comfort, and peace to bear the irreplaceable loss.
Also, members of the Knights of St. John International (KSJI), Commandery 550 and Laux 464, in a condolence message signed by their Worthy President, Major Peter Ike Okonkwo, said, “Dear brother Fidelis, please take heart over the loss of your father-in-law, Okwa Johnson Ugbeleme.
”Extend also my sincere condolences to your sister, Lady Rita Egugbo.
”May the soul of the late Okwa Johnson Ugbeleme, and the souls of all the faithful departed, through the mercy of God rest in peace. Amen.
