THE Chairman of Ika South Local Government Area of Delta State, Hon Sunny Tatabuzogwu, has rewarded outstanding staff of the Local Government Council.

Hon. Tatabuzogwu stated at the event which took place at  NULGE Cooperative Hall, Agbor that the rewards which included certificates and cash, was to inspire the workers to bring out their best.

He stated that his administration was focusing on quality service delivery through hardwork, discipline and dedication to duties.

“My administration is out to make our local government better and not to destroy it.

“If we fail to develop or local government it will collapse; therefore, we must always do our best as workers to move our local government forward.

“I do not give attention to worship or publicity in whatever my administration is doing today, because I was not voted into office as chairman to be stagnant but, to work towards the overall development of both our people  and local government.

“Today, we are honouring and rewarding some staff of our local government for their dedication and  commitment to duties.

“These honour and rewards will encourage them to remain dedicated and committed to their duties and also enable other staff who are not always in office to turn a new leaf and take their jobs seriously.

“In addition, my administration is out to execute projects that are meaningful to our people and not to share money.

“We must make sure that the system keeps moving, we must be the pace setters as we work together in synergy to make Ika South the envy of other local government areas in Delta State.

“We must protect what we have and we are doing it; we must re-orientate  ourselves so that God will bless us.

“Let us take our jobs seriously because there lies our respect, pride and livelihood.

“My administration will continue to support and encourage hardwork and will never give room for any negative attitude towards official duties,” Hon. Tatabuzogwu said.

He congratulated the recipients and urged them to keep the flag flying specifically noting that the best administrator of the year, Barr R.B Osemigha was recognised for his humility, dedication and support.

Hon. Tatabuzogwu also, thanked <span;>the NULGE Chairman, Comrade Nwanma Emmanuel Jolly and the entire staff of the local government for their cooperation, adding, “even though I am pushing you too hard, it is for us to succeed.”

Staff of the local government who were honoured and rewarded include  Lucky Eriokpa (Best Driver), Mrs Virginia Okolie (Accountability), Lucky Imariagbe (Resourcefulness), Mrs Doris Egede ( Punctuality), Bama Emmanuel Emeke (Respectfulness), Lucky Aghedo (Creativity and Best Dressed), Ighodaro Matthew (Dedication to duty),  Barr R.B Osemigha (Administrator of the year), Sanitarian Chief (Mrs) Doharty kachikwu (Head of Department of the year) and Egbulem Chukwudi (Humility).

Sanitarian Chief (Mrs) Doharty  Kachikwu, on behalf of other recipients, thanked Hon Sunny Tatabuzogwu for the recognition and honour which she said was unprecedented in the history of local government service.

She promised that they would reciprocate by putting in more efforts in their various engagements in the Council.

High points of the event which was anchored by the Head of Information Department of the Council Eziada (Mrs) Joy Mordi was the presentation of certificates and cash to the recipients and taking of group photographs.

The Secretary to Ika South Local Government Area, Hon Kainji Aluge Obia in a chat, commended Hon Tatabuzogwu for the endorsement of the idea of rewarding outstanding staff of the local government.

He disclosed that the reward will continue as plans are already on for the 2022 edition, asserting that the recipients of the maiden edition never lobbied anyone, as the screening exercise by his committee was very thorough and organized.

While thanking members of his committee for their meaningful contributions, he pledged his unalloyed loyalty to Hon Tatabuzogwu, promising to continue to work tirelessly in support of Hon Tatabuzogwu’s quest to build a better Ika South Local Government.
