Ifeanyi Oyemike hails from Ndokwa West LGA. She is a B.Sc. holder in Criminology and Security Studies. She was unemployed till she enrolled into the 2015/2016 STEP cycle in which she was trained and established in Tiling. Though practising in a male-dominated enterprise, Ifeanyi has carved a niche for herself as she stands out among her counterparts. She is the CEO of Isy Best Enterprises. She shares her success story.

“I am comfortable. STEP chased poverty far away from me. I chose tiling because I needed to do things differently. When one is doing what everyone else does, it becomes competitive. As a female tiler in a male dominated skill, I stand out among my male counterparts; my services are good and highly sought after.

“I have expanded and diversified into hairdressing and sales of goods. I own a unisex hairdressing salon and a supermarket, both in Asaba. I have four employees in the barbing section, and two in the hairdressing section. Also, two employees are in the supermarket. For tiling, I have seven employers whom I pay based on jobs executed. I am engaged on monthly basis. Summarily, I have 15 employees.

“I have trained 15 persons in tiling job. At present, I have three trainees I have procured more tiling equipment to meet clients’ demand. STEP has helped me a lot to become what I am today. I bought a car and two plots of land among other achievements. Thanks to Governor Okowa and the Job Creation Bureau.”
