“What we are doing now is to ensure that the projects approved for the contractors which include the rehabilitation and upgrades of our Central hospitals are carried out in tandem with the various bills of quantity.

“To assess the extent of work done so far, know what is still left to be done and the areas that have been omitted like we saw in some hospitals with omissions and we would bring all these on board and tackle them.”

Ononye expressed satisfaction on work done so far and urged the contractors and site engineers to put more efforts to ensure that  the projects are delivered in good time as Deltans are eager to make use of this facilities.

He added that part of what the monitoring visit aimed to achieve is to get first-hand information on issues affecting the performance of the hospitals with the view to see how the Ministry can intervene and make them much more efficient in service delivery.

At the various hospitals visited, their Zonal Medical Directors conducted the Commissioner and his Team round the project sites and even as they commended the State Government for its interventions in the health sector.
