THE Deputy Governor of Delta State, Sir Monday Onyeme, has expressed joy that within few months of the administration of Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, Deltans in the diaspora are bringing their investments to the state.

Onyeme who spoke on Sunday while commissioning the Ohwotemu Event Gallery at Jesse Junction, Ethiope West Local Government Area of Delta State, stated that while Rt. Hon. Oborevwori was marking his one hundred days in office with commissioning of projects, Deltans in the diaspora have also proven their confidence in the MORE Agenda by executing projects that will employ the youths within the period.

He said, “Rt Hon Sheriff Oborevwori, the Executive Governor of Delta State came out with a development agenda called the M.O.R.E Agenda and he told us that in this government, we are going to see more development, and we are going to build on whatever we inherited from the previous administrations and do more.

“Just last week, we started celebrating our 100 days in office and we commissioned about five projects in Asaba and environs; this week, we are going to commission five or more projects and next week, we are going to commission more and more projects.

“Till about the middle of next month, more and more projects will be commissioned to mark our 100 days in office.”

“So, I am very happy to be here to commission this project that is executed by an individual, it is a clear evidence that Deltans in the diaspora are comfortable with our MORE Agenda and are seeing reasons to come back home and invest.

“Really, there is no place like home and it is our collective responsibility to make Delta better for future generation.

“We have heard so much about japa syndrome, nobody is against migration, but we are working to make our state, Delta home to those who wants to japa from Europe to Africa, Delta is safe for investments.”

Onyeme said he was happy that Chief Felix Akpona, the Executive Director the Ohwotemu Event Gallery, brought the project to Delta because of the contribution it would make to the development of the state.

According to Onyeme, “I am very happy to be here today, Chief Felix Akpona is completely in tune with the M.O.R.E. agenda of this government under Rt Hon Sheriff Oborevwori.”

The Executive Director the Ohwotemu Event Gallery, Chief Felix Akpona, had in his speech thanked the Deputy Governor for honouring his invitation even at a short notice.

Chief Akpona said the project was part of his contribution to the development of the area and appealed to the state government to extend more development to people.
