AHEAD of 2023 general elections, Governor of Bauchi State, Bala Mohammed, at the weekend, led members of the Peoples Democratic Party 2019 Election Review Committee to pay separate visits to former President Olusegun Obasanjo and General Ibrahim Babangida (rtd).
Authoritative sources disclosed that while Babangida was met on Saturday at his Hilltop mansion, Minna, Niger State, Obasanjo was met in his Ota farm on Sunday night.
Though, journalists were not allowed to cover the meetings, it was gathered that they were strictly political as the 2019 general elections were reviewed, while the 2023 elections were also discussed.
Confirming the meetings, Bala Mohammed, in a series of tweets on his verified Twitter handle @SenBalaMohammed on Sunday said, “Today, I led a delegation of @officialPDPNig2019 General Election Review on an advocacy visit to meet with former President, Olusegun Obasanjo, GCFR.”
“The delegation included former governors Sule Lamido of Jigawa State, Babangida Aliyu of Niger State, former Minister of Special Duties and Chairman, PDP Ministers Forum, Tanimu Turaki (SAN),” he said in another tweet.
In another tweet, the governor stated, “The visit to former President Olusegun Obasanjo, GCFR is to intimate him on the activities of the committee and to seek his impute and suggestions towards achieving our collective goal.”
