A frontline member of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, in Ika South Local Government Area of Delta State,Comrade Dennis Araro, has lauded the Governor of the state, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, on the recent award conferred on him by Non-Indigenes resident in the state.

The award was conferred on the governor for being the Most Inclusive Governor of the year 2025.

Handing over the award , the leader of the group, Prof. Chinwuba Ibe said it was in recognition of the demonstrated capacity of the governor to give every interest, including non- indigenes resident in the state, a due sense of belonging in his administration.
Responding to the development in Agbor, Comrade Araro said the award was quite significant in the sense that it was the first of its type in the history of the state.
The PDP chieftain also said that the award was significant in that it came from persons of diverse ethnic and religious backgrounds in the state.

He said it was rare for people of such diverse backgrounds to unanimously reach such a decision, given the different cultural and political backdrops.
Araro, however, said the award was well deserved , given the impressive development strides of the state government under the watch of Oborevwori.

According to him, while the development strides of the governor had been impressive, the recent approval of more than N275b worth of development projects across the state, had taken sustainable development initiatives in the state to an unprecedented level.

Araro said this level of unprecedented development engagement by the government was underpinned by the fact that all of the many projects covered by the approval, had 40 per cent upward fiscal mobilisation for the contractors .

He said the 40 per cent upfront mobilisation was an indication of the commitment of the administration to the accelerated completion of the projects.

Araro urged Deltans and other residents of the state to subsist in their support of the governor beyond his first term of office.

He recalled that the governor had earlier received awards from ThsDay/ Arise Television, New Telegraph, The Pointer newspapers, Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation and Silver Bird Television groups for good governance and infrastructure development.
