The Maris Trust Council (MTC) on Tuesday, extended its warmest felicitations to distinguished legal luminary and political leader, Olorogun Barr. Fred Majemite, as he marks his 62nd birthday.
As a seasoned administrator and a bridge-builder, Olorogun Majemite has consistently demonstrated a commitment to excellence and intellectual discourse.
Secretary to Maris Trust Council, MTC, Comrade Fidelis Egugbo fondly recalled Olorogun Majemite profound contributions as a Discussant at the maiden edition of Maris Annual Public Service Lecture held ON Wednesday, April 24, 2019 at the Orchid Hotel, Asaba where his insights on governance and societal development set a high benchmark for the series.
At that lecture Majemite discussed the topic, Managing Post-Election Challenges: Nigeria As Case Study with former Chief Whip of the Senate and a woman who is known as a tested technocrat, Senator Stella Omu, a University don in the Department of Political Science, Dr David Oba, and a notable name in the civil society, Faith Nwadishi.
Chief Williams Makinde was the Keynote Speaker at that lecture which had a University Don, Prof. Kemi Emina as Moderator.
Former Governor of Delta State, Sen. Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa, CON, was the Special Guest of Honour and Chief Nicholas Chizea (Oshimili Atata of Asaba) was Chairman of Occasion while Barr. Mrs Josephine Ada Kachikwu was the Mother of the Day and Rev. Fr. John Konyeke attended the lecture as the Spiritual Father of the Day.
“It is heartwarming that Olorogun Majemite is celebrating the anniversary of his birth as count down begins for year 2026 edition of Maris Annual Public Service Lecture.
“This year’s lecture described in some circles as ‘security summit’ will have former Chief of Defence Staff, Gen. Lucky Irabor as Keynote Speaker and he will speak on the topic, ‘Insecurity: Bane Of Nigeria’s Unity And Progress.’

“The Governor of Delta State, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori who is committedly working for an egalitarian society and has graciously approved the Unity Hall, Government House, Asaba as venue for the lecture will be the Distinguished Guest of Honour while his predecessor in whose tenure the lecture was instituted, Sen. Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa, CON, has confirmed that he will attend the lecture as Special Guest of Honour.
“The Deputy Governor of Delta State, Sir Monday Onyeme, Ph D who once spoke on the topic, ‘Effective Tax Administration For The Delivery Of Democratic Dividends,’ will be the Guest of Honour at the lecture which will hold on its traditional date of Wednesday of the Holy Week, April 1, 2026 at 12 Noon.
“Former Chief of Naval Staff, Admiral Dele Ezeoba will Chairman the occasion while Rear Admiral Mike Onah will be the Father of the Day and Princess Minnie Igbrude, Ph.D will be Mother of the Day.
‘Discussants at this year’s lecture include a University Don, Prof Hope Eghagha of the University of Lagos, a security expert, Sir Mike Ejiofor, a former Director of Department of State Services (DSS), Ezinne Dr. Rosemary Ogabu, LSM, a retired Controller of Corrections, the Chief Security Officer of Isoko South Local Government Area who is the Council Chairman, Hon. Warri Ovoke and Rev. Fr. John Konyeke of the Catholic Institute of West Africa (CIWA).
‘Prof. Kemi Emina, the OdiEga of Ebu Kingdom will be the Moderator of the discussion segment.
