As the Global Fund supported C19RM project implemented by the Civil Society Organization on Malaria Control, Immunization and Nutrition (ACOMIN) exit, the Delta State Chairman of the organization, Pastor Gregory Sifo has called for the sustainability of the Community-Led Monitoring model of the project.

Sifo made the call in Asaba during the quarterly coordination meeting being the last for the year and for the project.

He said that global funds had seen the benefits of community-led monitoring model, adding that under the model, they engaged people from the community and educate them on how and need to take ownership of their healthcare facilities.

Sifo told the Community Based Organization(CBOs) not to be discouraged that global fund was exiting but still be interfacing with the healthcare facilities they have worked with, noting that ACOMIN had resolved many issues confronting the healthcare facilities in the the state.

He said that the intervention of ACOMIN had saved several lives, stressing that their work was all about service to humanity, just as he reminded them that they would get results through passion and commitment to their responsibility.

The Programme Officer, Juliet Obiajulu in her keynote message stressed on Time management, imploring the CBOs to embrace pareto stress management principle to achieve greater results.

Obiajulu also lauded the CBOs , especially those who recorded different success stories in their various facilities from June to November, 2025.

Earlier in their separate goodwill messages, the state partners including the Program Manager for Basic Healthcare Provision Fund in the State Primary Healthcare Development Agency, Mr. Azubuike, the representative of SACA, Mr. Paul Uwadia , the State Chairman of TB Network, Mr. Chiedozie Onyeukwu and Mr. Christopher Ogberetinor the state NEPWHAN Coordinator, reiterated that CBOs were strengthening the health system as well as rendering services to humanity.

Onyeukwu informed the CBOs that with their experiences in the ACOMIN project, they have opportunities to collaborate with other CSOs , urging them to prepare for such opportunities.

On his part, Azubuike, who described primary healthcare as the bedrock of healthcare delivery, mentioned that communities with two to four facilities would be accommodated after accreditation into the Basic Health Care Provision Fund.

He said that 156 PHCs had been added to receive funds in the state bringing the number of funded PHCs in the state to 402.
