AS Catholics mark Father’s Day,  Rev. Fr. Peter Agholor has said, it is not wrong for Christians to face challenges.

Delivering a Homily at the Catholic Church of the Ascension,  Asaba,  Delta State on Sunday,  the Priest noted that challenges are used by God to prepare Christians for higher glory.

According to Him, Christians should know that God will always answer their prayers at His own time if they believe in Him.

“God allowed Job to suffer not because Job committed any sin but because,  He do whatever He wills, no one controls Him.

“We should know that Jesus did not commit any sin, yet He suffered and died on the cross.

“Recall too that after all the suffering, Job got everything back, so, when you are suffering,  don’t give up, continue to believe in God because, He may be preparing you for higher glory.

“God uses challenges to prepare you for higher glory, so, do not complain, do not waver in your belief in Him; know that God’s power is greater than all.

“In life, challenges are bound to come; we need God, no matter what we have, we need God and we should look up to Him.

“Once Jesus is with you, you cannot fail.

“So many of us go to church but, are yet to rely solely on Jesus for solutions to their problems.

“Without the power of Jesus,  you cannot do anything; God has given us power but, how have we used the power?

“To be Christians, we must live like Christ; we fear unnecessarily like the unbelievers; we should pray to God and believe that He will answer our prayers.

“Once you live Christ-like life, what you pronounce will come to pass; pray always.

“That you are a father today was made possible by God and what a man needs from the wife is respect.

“The easiest way to a man’s heart is respect and with respect,  your husband will respect you and cater for the home.”

The Holy Mass which was co-celebrated by Rev. Fr. Hilary Ibegbulem, and Rev. Fr. Victor Ijeh featured special thanksgiving by members of the Catholic Men Organisation of Nigeria (CMON).

Members of CMON led by their Chairman, Mr Evans Edobor, took charge of Church Warden activities,  Mass Servers, and others.

High point of the celebration was a reception organised in the church compound.
