Rev. Fr. Andrew Mozia, has described Maris Schools, Okpanam as a place where the education of youths is a priority.

According to him, “Maris School is about being at the service of educating young ones so that they can be better persons in the future.”

He gave the description on Sunday while delivering a Homily at Catholic Mass Center, Maris Schools, Okpanam.

He called on Christians to be committed to serving God by serving people, asserting that the essence of life is to serve God no matter where one finds himself/herself.

Fr. Mozia said, “today, we thank God for the gift of life and all He has been doing for us; as we thank God, the readings of today drew our attention to the whole idea of setting our priorities right – that at the heart of our lives as Christians, as children of God is the service to God and humanity.

“We must have it at the back of our minds that for us to be happy and fulfilled, we must be at the service of God and humanity.

“You and I must have it at the back of our minds as we journey through life that, we must be at the service of God and humanity so that at the end of our lives here on earth, we will have happiness and fulfillment

“We saw in the readings of today that Abraham was one of such personalities and that is why he without knowing that people that he was dealing with were heavenly, he was hospitable to them and was blessed.

“Someone does not need to be your brother, your sister or your friend before you do good to him or her; be good to everyone you come in contact with.

“We must be hospitable, we must be kind, because you do not know where your blessing will come from and doing good also, gives you happiness and fulfillment.

“Matha was busy cooking, preparing room for Jesus and others, being at the service of Christ, but Mary was at the feet of Jesus, listening to the word of God and Jesus used that opportunity to tell us that we may be so busy serving God, serving humanity but we must never fail to set our priorities right; that we must first listen to Jesus before doing other things.

“So, as we journey through life, no matter how busy we are, we must never forget that God must come first, the things of God must come first; remember the purpose of Catechism – why did God create you? God created you to know Him, love Him, serve Him in this world and you will be happy with Him forever.

“So, in all you do, strive towards knowing God, know more about God because the more you know God, the more you love Him.”

The Holy Mass featured special thanksgiving by management, staff, students, and pupils of Maris Schools for God’s blessings throughout the session among others.
