REV. Fr. Godwin Odom, has urged Christians to always patiently wait for God to solve their problems.

The Priest made the call on Sunday at St. Jude’s Catholic Church,  Rumuokoro, Port-Harcourt, Rivers State, while speaking at the churching of baby Oluchukwu David Egugbo, first child of Mr and Mrs Christopher Egugbo after sixteen years of marriage.

According to him, Christians should learn from the patience of the Egugbos, asserting that, “good things come from God.

“We are here to celebrate with our brother and his family who waited patiently on the Lord for sixteen years for the gift of the womb.

“The patience we could learn a lot from him; we should learn and know that good things come from the Lord.

“Patiently, we should follow the Lord.

“After years, God remembered him and gave him a baby boy; we pray that the child will be a blessing to his parents and to humanity through Christ our Lord. Amen.

In a Homily at the Holy Mass, Rev. Fr. Andrew Midim,  emphasised that Christians should give their all to God and should never compartmentalised Him.

“One of the problems that humanity is facing today is that we believe that we can compartmentalise Jesus; not until you invite Jesus fully into your life,  your efforts will be in vain.

“Start your business with Jesus; start your day with Jesus and do not start your day with complain.

“The disciples listened to Jesus; ‘listen and do whatever He tells you,’ our Blessed Mother will say.

“You are not here to impress anybody; just come out and do your best because  a time will come when He will ask us to account for our deeds while on earth.

“No matter what you do, strive and make efforts to love Jesus unconditionally.

“How far can we go without God?

“Do not compartmentalise God; we are finished if we remove Jesus from the equation.

“Today is the beginning of the month, let us begin and remain with Jesus.

“Our brother is celebrating sixteen years of waiting on the Lord, let us learn from this and give Him thanks always.”

The Holy Mass which was well attended, featured thanksgiving by Mr Christopher Egugbo, accompanied by members of his family and well wishers.
