A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Delta State, Chief Gideon Dana Mokogwu, has described investment in healthcare as essential for meaningful development.
Mokogwu, who is Chairman of the APC Elders’ Movement, a support group for the party in Okpanam, Oshimili North Local Government Area, made the commendation on the sidelines of the official commissioning of the Okpanam Cottage Hospital.
He said the project would have a direct impact on the lives of the people, adding that investment in the health sector is critical to the wellbeing of individuals and society at large.
He lauded the State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, and past governors for their efforts and modest contributions toward the growth and development of the state.
Mokogwu specifically appreciated the Chairman of Oshimili North LGA and the House of Assembly candidate for Oshimili North Constituency, Hon. Innocent Esewezie, for his initiative and magnanimity in building the hospital for the community.
He assured all candidates of the party of his group’s support in the 2027 elections, expressing optimism that the APC would record a convincing victory in Delta State because of the good work of the APC-led administration in the state.
Commenting on the anniversary of the creation of the state, Mokogwu affirmed that Delta State is the fastest-developing state in Nigeria, stressing that successive leaders, including the present Governor Oborevwori, have contributed their quota to transforming the state.
While congratulating Deltans on the anniversary, Mokogwu said, “to whom much is given, much is expected,” and urged them to return Governor Oborevwori, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, and all APC candidates for various elective positions in 2027.
Mokogwu appealed to the state government to support members of the Elders’ Movement of Okpanam APC through empowerment initiatives.
He also thanked the Director-General of the Delta State Capital Territory Development Agency and former Secretary to the State Government during Senator Okowa’s tenure for leveraging his influence to attract government projects to the community.
