Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, has said that his administration is committed to the welfare, continuous training, and capacity development of civil servants.

The Governor described a well-equipped workforce as the engine of effective governance and sustainable development.
He made this known on Monday in Asaba when he received members of the Federal Civil Service Commission on a courtesy visit.
Represented by his Deputy, Sir Monday Onyeme, Ph.D., the Governor stressed that keeping pace with global administrative standards requires state and national civil service institutions to invest aggressively in manpower development.
Governor Oborevwori expressed Delta State’s pride in hosting the 2026 edition of the National Council on Civil Service, noting that the state consistently strives for excellence across all governance sectors.
”We are very happy to host the 2026 edition of your National Council; Delta State likes to be first in everything, and our civil service stands among the best in the country because our personnel are properly trained and their welfare is prioritised.
”Things are changing rapidly across the globe, and continuous training and retraining remain the only path to keeping our institutions abreast of modern demands.
“I urge the leadership of the National Council to encourage civil service commissions across the federation to adopt this continuous learning approach,” Governor Oborevwori said.
The Chairman of the Federal Civil Service Commission, Prof. Tunji Olaopa, had commended Governor Oborevwori for hosting the national event.
He explained that the annual gathering includes a targeted conference designed to address topical reforms and shape the future of public administration in Nigeria.
Prof. Olaopa lauded the Governor’s performance across Delta State.
