The Deputy Governor of Delta State, Sir Monday Onyeme, Ph.D., has charged students to be ambassadors of the All Progressives Congress (APC) by taking the party’s message of unity, development, and good governance to their fellow students.

Sir Onyeme gave the charge while addressing a rally christened “Delta North Students for APC”, held in Asaba on Saturday.
He urged the students to use their influence and positions in the academic community to promote constructive political participation and strengthen support for the APC.
The Deputy Governor said: “I sincerely thank you all for the solidarity and support you have demonstrated towards our leadership, the good governance exemplified by the APC.
”Your presence here today is a clear demonstration of your commitment to the victory of our party, the APC in the forthcoming elections, and we deeply appreciate it.
”Our leaders have already addressed virtually everything that needs to be said about the importance of remaining committed to the All Progressives Congress (APC), from the presidential level down to the state and local government levels.
“Each of you has a responsibility to reach out to other students, your friends, and members of your families, share the information you have received, and encourage constructive political participation.
”You are the energy and driving force of the student community, and your voices and contributions matter.
”I encourage every student to take advantage of the opportunities provided through the Renewed HOPE Programme; do not assume that these opportunities are beyond your reach, make the effort to obtain the necessary information and apply.
”Every support you receive helps reduce the financial burden on your parents and creates room for other important needs.
”As a government, we will continue to do our best to support our students and create opportunities for their development.”
The Deputy Governor commended the founder of FELD, Pastor Paul Adingupu, for establishing the foundation and investing in the future of young people, urging other political leaders and well-meaning Deltans to emulate such gestures by launching initiatives that support students and ease the burden of education on families.
Sir Onyeme reminded the students of the forthcoming Onyeme Foundation scholarship scheme’s cheque presentation ceremony scheduled for November 8, where cheques will be presented to 853 students who were successful in the just-concluded scholarship exams across Delta North.
He invited all lovers of education to attend the ceremony, which will be held at Dennis Osadebay University, Asaba.
The immediate past Governor of Delta State, Sen. Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa, at the rally, urged Nigerian students and young people to embrace entrepreneurship, acquire practical skills, and develop innovative ideas capable of creating employment opportunities and contributing to national development.
”I encourage you to take your education seriously, acquire relevant skills, understand the history of your country, and become active contributors to national development.
”The decisions we make today will determine the kind of country we leave for our children tomorrow.
”Let us work together towards building a stronger, more productive, and economically sustainable Nigeria, and this we can do by voting for President Bola Tinubu and all the candidates of the APC,” stated Sen. Okowa, who is the senatorial candidate of the APC in Delta North.
Chairman of APC in the state, Chief Solomon Arenyeka flanked by members of his Executive Committee that included Elder Moses Iduh and Engr. Dan Ossai, urged the students to work hard to ensure that APC candidates emerge victorious in the 2027 elections.
The Chairman of FELD, Pastor Adeningupu, on the occasion, lauded Governor Sheriff Oborevwori and other APC leaders for investing in youth and education, and urged students to participate actively in the electoral process.
Earlier, the Coordinator of Delta North Students for APC, Comrade Victor Ogechukwu Anthony, disclosed that the event was organized to show the world that all students of voting age in Delta North support all candidates of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
