The Governor of Delta State, Rt Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, has described the immediate past Head of Service, Dr. Mrs. Minimum Oseji, as a good mentor.

Governor Oborevwori made the statement on Sunday while speaking at the retirement thanksgiving service of Dr Mrs Oseji at the Church of God Mission International, Asaba.
The Governor was represented at the occasion by his Deputy, Sir Monday Onyeme, Ph.D.
”Having served our state with dedication and distinction, culminating in her appointment as Head of Service, Dr Oseji deserves our commendation and appreciation.
”She was the quintessential public servant, a paragon of humility, and an amiable personality; indeed, today’s Thanksgiving Service is to honour a career defined by diligence, professionalism, and unassailable integrity.
”The Psalmist reminds us in Psalm 95:2: ‘Let us come before His presence with thanksgiving, and extol Him with music and song.’ Indeed, we have every reason to give thanks for a life of service, commitment, and purposeful leadership.
”On behalf of my family, the Government, and the people of Delta State, I sincerely appreciate Dr Oseji for her years of faithful service to the state.
”She served with distinction and contributed immensely to the growth and progress of the public service in Delta State; her tenure as Head of Service was marked by a strong sense of responsibility and commitment to the ideals of an efficient and effective public service.
”She was a good mentor whose legacy lives on in the crop of dedicated and motivated officers who are better equipped to continue to move the civil service forward.
”As she begins this new chapter of her life, I pray that the Almighty God will continue to sustain and uphold her; the assurance in Isaiah 46:4 is particularly comforting: ‘Even to your old age and grey hairs I am He, I am He who will sustain you.’ May this promise remain her portion, with good health, peace of mind, and many more fulfilling years ahead.
”Dr Oseji, you may have retired from active duty, but please note that retirement is not the end of service or purpose; it is the turning of a new page for you, an opportunity to embrace new experiences and devote time to other meaningful pursuits.
”As Proverbs 3:5–6 counsels, continue to trust in the Lord with all your heart and acknowledge Him in all your ways. May He direct your paths and bless the work of your hands.
”Once again, I congratulate you on a successful and meritorious career; may this new phase of your life bring you joy, fulfilment, good health, and the abundant blessings of God,” Governor Oborevwori said.
Delivering a sermon during the service, Rev. Eric Nwachukwu noted that transformation must begin in the individual heart before affecting family and society, and must produce evidence through integrity, honesty, and conduct at the workplace, which he described as a mission field.
The former Head of Service, Dr Oseji, thanked God for seeing her through the most challenging assignment of her life.
She also thanked Governor Sheriff Oborevwori for the opportunity to serve as the Head of Service, Delta State.
Some dignitaries who attended the event include the Asagba of Asaba, Prof. Epiphany Azinge, the Chief of Staff, Hon. Prince Johnson Erijo, Deputy Chief of Staff, Sir Christopher Osakwe, among numerous others.
