Governor Sheriff Oborevwori has ascribed the execution of multi-million naira projects and payment of salaries to the effective economic policies of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
The Governor made this known on Thursday while commissioning the newly completed Sheriff Oborevwori Administrative Complex and access road at the Oshimili South Local Government Council Secretariat, Asaba.

Represented by his Deputy, Sir Monday Onyeme, Ph.D., Governor Oborevwori also said that his administration’s commitment to executing life-enriching projects across all 25 Local Government Areas remains firm, adding that the government would continue to deliver quality roads, upgraded public utility spaces, and improved social services.
”I thank our President, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, for making it possible for the third tier of government, local government councils, to meet their financial obligations to workers and also execute multi-million naira projects.
”It is worthy to note that Asaba is not only the capital of Delta State but also the heartbeat of our administration’s urban renewal efforts, because Oshimili South holds a strategic position in the state, serving as an administrative hub, a commercial center, and a gateway for visitors.
”We are all aware that providing standard infrastructure at the grassroots level remains essential to effective governance; as such, these projects directly support our administration’s M.O.R.E. Agenda.
”Specifically, it aligns with Meaningful Development and Realistic Reforms; the Office Complex is a modern, well-equipped workspace designed to enhance administrative efficiency, improve employee productivity, and ensure that citizens receive civil services in a dignified environment.
“Also, the access road is built to ensure seamless accessibility into the Secretariat, reduce traffic bottlenecks, and improve connectivity within the immediate community.
”I commend the leadership of the Oshimili South Local Government Council, the contractors, and the engineers for delivering these projects to standard.
”To the staff and civil servants who will occupy this building, bear in mind always that this facility belongs to the public, maintain these structures responsibly so that they continue to serve the people of Oshimili South for years to come.
”As a government, our commitment to executing life-enriching projects across all 25 Local Government Areas remains firm; we will continue to deliver quality roads, upgraded public utility spaces, and improved social services,” the Governor said.
The immediate past Governor of Delta State, Sen. Dr Ifeanyi Okowa, represented by Rt. Hon. Pascal Adigwe, called on local government chairmen to support the state governor and President Tinubu through grassroots mobilisation and the delivery of the dividends of democracy to the people.
In a goodwill message, former member of the House of Representatives, Hon. Ndudi Elumelu, noted that the President is ensuring that funds are getting to the state and local governments, and urged the chairman to keep up the good work for the benefit of the people.
The Asagba of Asaba, His Royal Majesty Prof. Epiphany Azinge, SAN, congratulated the Chairman of Oshimili South Local Government Council for the wonderful achievements, noting that through the 1976 Local Government Reform, which was introduced to bring government closer to the grassroots, the local government remains the clearest measure of how close government has been brought to the people.
”A lot has improved with Local Government autonomy; there is no denying that fact. This is something that has evolved over a period of time, and we have now been able to consolidate it through the policies of the Federal Government in that regard,” the Asagba said.
In a welcome address, the Chairman of Oshimili South Local Government Council, Hon. Kelvin Ezenyili, described the projects as a testament to the government’s vision, fully aligned with the development philosophy and objectives of the M.O.R.E. Agenda.
