”Security remains the bedrock upon which any meaningful national progress is built; I applaud the consistency of the Maris platform in fostering this critical high-level discourse.

“Providing a forum for seasoned experts and stakeholders to proffer solutions to our collective challenges is a vital service to our nation,” Chukwu stated.

He expressed high regard for the caliber of participants, specifically commending the inclusion of distinguished figures like the Governor of Delta State, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, and his Deputy, Sir Monday Onyeme, Ph.D, as Distinguished Guest of Honour and Guest of Honour respectfully.

He noted that their involvement is evidence that significant strides will be made toward proffering solutions to Nigeria’s security challenges during the lecture.

Lion Chukwu expressed optimism that the vast experience and insights of the key players will contribute significantly to the national conversation on security.

”It is my sincere hope that the deliberations at this year’s lecture will move beyond rhetoric and yield actionable, strategic insights necessary to bolster national security and promote lasting prosperity for all Nigerians,” he added.

He wished the organizers, the Maris Trust Council, and all participants a productive and highly successful event, adding, “my brother and friend, Comrade Fidelis Egugbo, thank you for the zeal to keep this lecture going every year in Delta State.”

Former Chief of Defence Staff, Gen. Lucky Irabor, will speak on the topic “Insecurity: Bane of Nigeria’s Unity And Progress.”

The lecture will feature former Governor of Delta State, Sen. Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa as Special Guest of Honour and former Chief of Naval Staff, Admiral Dele Ezeoba, as Chairman of the Occasion.

Other dignitaries include Rear Admiral Mike Onah, OON (Father of the Day); Dame Princess Minnie Igbrude (Mother of the Day); and Prof. Kemi Emina (Moderator).

Discussants include Prof. Hope Eghagha, Sir Mike Ejiofor, Lady Rosemary Ogabu, Warri Ovoke, and Rev. Fr. John Konyeke.
