“Look around you and you will see that most of the things that we are using today, the television, telephones, aeroplanes, including buildings were made possible as a result of education.

“Parents should take the education of their children serious for them to have a better future and for us to have a good country.

“What we are witnessing here today at Maris Schools, is pure display of talents and I thank the parents of students and pupils of Maris Schools for doing the right thing by bringing their children to this school.

“I thank our parents, parents of students and pupils of Maris Schools for giving their children the greatest legacy – education,” Edoge said.

Edoge, who is also, President, Exclusive Committee of Friends, (EXCOFs), urged students to take their education serious, asserting, “take education serious and at the end you will have reasons to thank God.

“Without Education, you wouldn’t have seen the beautiful things you are seeing today, those who tried ignorance instead of education are yet to recover from their mistakes.”

He thanked the management and teachers of Maris Schools for their commitment to proper upbringing of the students and pupils of the school in a conducive learning environment.

Also speaking at the occasion, Comrade Fidelis Egugbo, Senior Special Assistant, to Governor Sheriff Oborevwori on Media, stated that Maris Schools from inception believes in excellence and does not compromise in ensuring proper teaching of the pupils and students of the school.

He said: “in Maris Schools, there is no compromise when it comes to teaching of the students, the teachers must adhere to the school curriculum issued by the Ministry of Education and I can tell you that the students and pupils have no reason not to do well; this is because of personalised teaching, some classes have five students or pupils largely due to the location of the school.

“The school is grateful to her benefactors, the spiritual advisers, parents and others who are contributing in several ways to promote the activities of the school and education in general, may God bless you all, through Christ our Lord. Amen.”

Also, at the occasion, Miss Rosaline Njoku bagged “The Neatest Student Award (Secondary school category) while Miss Ike Amanda bagged, “The Neatest Pupil award (Primary school category).”
