Nwaomucha Clinches DFA Chairmanship Seat, As Opponent Gets One Vote

EX-International, Kenneth Nwaomucha, on Tuesday, polled 26 votes to clinch the Chairmanship position of the Delta State Football Association (DFA).

Nwaomucha ‘s opponent in the election, Mr Michael Aniemeka, got one vote in the election held at the Indoors Sports Hall of the Stephen Keshi Stadium, Asaba.

Also elected to run the affairs of the DFA with Nwaomucha in the election which was supervised by the Chairman of Chairmen, Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), Alhaji Ibrahim Musa Gusau, represented by the NFF South South Zonal Coordinator, Mr Emmanuel Iba were former Warri Wolves Chairman, Steve Cole (Vice Chairman), Azuka Ogosi (Secretary), former Chairman, Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN), Delta State, Harrison Ocholor, Mr. David Egho, Neville Bekederemor, Azuka Chiemeka, Lucky Sunday, and former Super Eagles defender, Sam Sodje.

DFA: Nwaomucha’s Position, Well Merited Says Onyeme

Speaking on behalf of the new Exco, Nwaomucha thanked the President of NFF, Mr. Amaju Pinnick, the Chairman, Delta Sports Commission, Chief Tonobok Okowa and all football stakeholders for the roles they are playing to uplift the standards of football in the state and the country.

While stating that their election signalled a new dawn in football administration in the state, the DFA Chairman asserted, “There is no faction in Delta football.

“Football is not a one man game; you can see that the board is made up of five ex-players so we will reach out to every stakeholder to improve on the successes recorded and work on new areas that will take football development to higher level.”

Nwamucha took over the leadership of the association from former Super Eagles Captain, Austin Jay Jay Okocha.
