Oborevwori’s Aide Assists Secondary School Student To Regain Sight

The Special Assistant to Governor Sheriff Oborevwori on Non-Indigenes and Community Development, Lion Anthony Chukwu has sponsored a successful surgery that made Master Aniagu Chigozie, a student of Asagba Mixed Secondary School, Asaba to regain his sight.

Lion Chukwu, the immediate past Regional Chairperson of Region 10, Lions Club, Asaba, disclosed after the successful cataract surgery which was performed on Tuesday at the Federal Medical Centre, Asaba that the eye challenges of Master Aniagu was discovered in 2023 when he carried out free eye screening and donated more than 200 eye glasses during the celebration of World Sight Day.

“Life is about giving back to the society, today, we thank God that our little efforts have helped a promising young man, Master Aniagu Chigozie, a student of Asagba Mixed Secondary School, Asaba to regain his sight.

“To the glory of God Almighty, a surgery which I sponsored for the removal of cataract was successfully done this morning at the Federal Medial Centre, Asaba.

“I thank God for providing the means, I thank our Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori and his Deputy, Sir Monday Onyeme, FCA, for giving us the platform to render more service to humanity.

“You may want to know that it was during the last World Sight Day when I donated 200 eye glasses and engaged in free medical care to mark the day that the challenges of Mast Aniagu was discovered and I promised to sponsor the removal of the cataract which to the glory of God, was successfully held today,” Lion Chukwu, a Knight of St. John, said.

In their reaction, the father of the student, Mr Sunday Aniagu thanked God for using Lion Chukwu to assist his son to regain his sights.

He said, “we pray that God will continue to bless Lion Chukwu for assisting my son with this surgery, we know the roles that Lion Chukwu is playing as a politician in Ward 10, Cable Point, Asaba and this his singular action has brought great relief to us as a family.”
