The newly elected executive members of Ogbe-Obi Progressive Youths, Okpanam in Oshimili North Local Government Area of Delta State have been inaugurated by the elders of the community with a call on the executive to prioritize the interest of the community and discharge their responsibility with utmost commitment.
Secretary-General of Okpanam Youth Organization, which is the apex decision making body for youths in Okpanam, Comrade Fidelis Okonma made the call in Okpanam while speaking with journalists shortly after the inauguration of the EXCO.
The Executive included Comr. Izuka Felix Okonma -Chairman; Comr. Ebele Nelson Onyemeziem-Vice Chairman; Comr. Chukwudi Patrick Obi-Secretary-General ; Comr. Charles Adimabua Onyemeziem- Treasurer; Comr. Chiedu Iwekuba Andrew -Assistant Secretary; Comr. Onyeisi Ekene Nwani-Financial Secretary; Comr. Azuka Shanghai- Organizing Secretary; Comr. Chineye Michael Gwanishu – PRO and Comr. Obi Chukwude – Provost.
Speaking further, Comrade Fidelis Okonma told the EXCO to see their election as an opportunity to serve the community diligently and congratulated them on their resounding victory in the election.
He urged them to carry everybody along in the scheme of things, just he reminded them that elections were over, adding that both the losers and winners won as they were one indivisible entity, hence no victor no vanguished.
In their separate remarks, two of the elders in the community, Mr. Nosike Obi and the Secretary of Ogbe-Obi community, Engr. Peter Moha advised the new executives to work together and shun anything that could bring division among them.
Responding, the chairman of Ogbe-Obi Progressive Youths, Comrade Izuka Felix Okonma promised effective service delivery for the good people of Ogbe-Obi community.
Comrade Okonma who stated this in his Ogbe-Obi country home , Okpanam after he was elected as the youth chairman of his community, said that his victory in the election was an act of God and affirmation of his overwhelming acceptance by his people.
While expressing his avowed commitment to achieving the campaign promises as outlined in his manifesto such as offering scholarships and support Ogbe-Obi children in Skill acquisition and drafting a working constitution, Comrade Okonma said that Ogbe-Obi youths under his leadership would operate an open door policy and carry his people along in the scheme of things .
He stated that he would create a source of revenue for Ogbe -Obi community, noting that the era of depending on land was over as there was no more land to sell.
