The University of Ibadan Alumni Association (UIAA), Asaba Chapter is set to organize a public lecture in honour of Delta State’s former Head of Service, Sir Okey Ofili.
A statement signed by Prof. Kemi Emina, the OdiEga of Ebu Kingdom who is Chairman, Local Organizing Committee for the event and Mr Emmanuel Dudu, Secretary of the Committee and made available to NewsDen disclosed that the lecture is to celebrate the 70th birthday anniversary of Sir Okey Ofili.
Registrar, Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB), Prof. Is-Haq Oloyede will speak on the topic, “Today’s Pain, Tomorrow’s Gain,’ at the lecture billed to hold at the Unity Hall, Government House, Asaba.
The Governor of Delta State, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori and his Deputy, Sir Monday Onyeme, FCA, are billed to attend the lecture as Special Guest of Honour and Guest of Honour respectively while the immediate past Governor of Delta State, Sen. Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa, CON, will be Chairman of Occasion.
The Asagba of Asaba, HRM Obi (Prof.) Epiphany Azinge will be the Father of the Day while the Catholic Bishop of Issele-Uku Diocese, Most Revd. Dr. Michael Odogwu Elue will be the Spiritual Father of the Day at the ceremony which will commence at 2 pm on Thursday, July 31, 2025.
