Okowa Committed To Instilling Positive Attitudinal Change In Youths – Egwunyenga

DELTA State Commissioner for Youth Development, Comrade Ifeanyi Egwunyenga has said, Governor Ifeanyi Okowa’s administration is committed to ensuring positive attitudinal change among youths,

The commissioner gave the assurance when members of Centre for Education Development Skills Acquisition Initiatives (CEDESA) paid him a courtesy visit in Asaba.

According to him, through different programmes, the governor has achieved a lot of results in mindset and values reorientation, skills development, civic, business and spiritual mentoring among the youths.

He noted that the achievements of Governor Okowa in the area of empowering the youths to think and engage in positive activities are evident in the activities of most of the youths across the state.

The commissioner commended CEDESA for creating a viable platform on which youths in their domain can thrive, saying that their good works had brought them to lime light.

He assured CEDESA of his support, assuring that he runs an open-door policy.

Earlier, the Project Director, CEDESA, Mrs Oluronke Ugbe, stated that the group was formed to develop youths for academic excellence, skills acquisition, mentoring and for them to have sustainable means of livelihood.

She revealed that her NGO, based in Obiaruku, Ukwuani Local Government Area of the state, had engaged over 600 youths in different areas, stating that her visit to the commissioner was to solicit for support.

She also called for synergy with the ministry to achieve the goals, aims and objectives of the youth ministry, and to enable youth at the grassroots leverage on what government had for them.

High point of the visit was the presentation of “The Youth Influencer Award” to the commissioner.
