Some of the ailments treated include malaria, high blood pressure, typhoid, stomach ulcer, eye related ailments and general debility.

Speaking at Ogwashi-Uku, Deputy Governor Monday Onyeme thanked the people for coming out for the free medical treatment and urged them to support Governor Sheriff Oborevwori-led administration.

He said that the free medical outreach was his own way of expressing his thanks to God for keeping him and his family.

“Today is a very happy day for us, I am happy today because God Almighty has been very faithful to me and my family.

“I am celebrating 60 years not because I am so good or too wise or too righteous, but God Almighty in his infinite mercy decided to let me be alive, protecting me and also guiding my ways, and that is why I am very happy and I am very thankful to Almighty God.

“You know all of us who are children of God, if you want to be thankful to God, how do you thank God? Has anyone seen God before? No, but God sees us from heaven, so, how do you want to thank God for all he had done for you?

“You will extend the blessings God has bestowed on you to the people you can see.

“When you extend the blessings to the people you can see, it is the best form of thanksgiving to God. In Matthew 25:40 the Bible told us that whatever you do for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.

“So, this is my own way of saying thank you God, which is to look for people who are in need of help and assist them in my own little way. And that is the reason for this medical outreach, to give assistance to those that are sick by bringing doctors to examine them and provide medicines for them.

“I want to thank everyone of you who came out to take part in this programme, that I called and you all came out, because if I called and you did not come out, this program would have been a total failure.

“Again, I say thank you and I pray that God Almighty heal everyone of you.

“I want to also thank the Chairmen of the various local governments for the publicity and mobilization for the medical outreach.

“Thank you for believing in this government and for believing in our governor, His Excellency Rt.Hon.Sheriff Oborevwori.

“Let us continue to support our Governor and our party PDP,” Onyeme said.

The state PDP Deputy Chairman, Chief Moses Iduh at the occasion, said the Deputy Governor’s generosity and his inclusive leadership style was his attraction and urged other political leaders to emulate him.

He said, ” I want to use this opportunity to join you, our leader to thank God.

“Your generosity and inclusiveness is immeasurable, I attached myself to you not because of your position but your person.

“What you are doing for our people is enormous, I want to use this medium to beg other political leaders to emulate you.”

The Chairman of Aniocha South Local Government Council, Pastor Jude Chukwuwinke who spoke on behalf of Aniocha North, Oshimili North and Oshimili South Council Chairmen, described Sir Onyeme as a visionary leader with the interest of the people at heart.

Former Minister of Agriculture, Chief Chris Agbobu, and others who spoke at the occasion, said they were proud of Onyeme and prayed for God’s blessings upon him.

Highpoint of the ceremony was the cutting of the birthday cake.
