The Deputy Governor of Delta State, Sir Monday Onyeme, Ph.D., has attributed the influx of investors to the state to the prevailing ease of doing business.

Sir Onyeme made the disclosure on Wednesday while commissioning the Millennium Shopping Complex and Allied Plaza, located on Okpanam Road, Okpanam, in the Oshimili North Local Government Area of Delta State.
According to him, the Governor Sheriff Oborevwori-led administration has created an enabling environment that has turned the state into an investors’ haven.
He observed that the influx of investors to Delta State has generated numerous employment opportunities, stimulated commercial activities, and promoted grassroots development.
The Deputy Governor commended the proprietor and founder of the shopping plaza, Mr. Francis Aghado, for deeming it fit to invest in his home state, describing the development as a worthy example of patriotism and commitment to community growth.
He noted that many Nigerians have distinguished themselves abroad and called on them to replicate such success by investing back home.
”When God blesses a Nigerian, wherever that person may be in the world, it is important for the person to remember home.
“It is important to remember one’s roots, and our brother has demonstrated that today.
“I commend him wholeheartedly; by investing in Nigeria, a lot of citizens will benefit from your sojourn abroad, and our communities will grow into the kind of places we admire in America, Europe, and elsewhere,” the Deputy Governor said.
He assured investors that the Delta State Government remains committed to supporting legitimate businesses and will continue to provide the necessary backing required for such investments to thrive.
In their separate remarks, the member representing Oshimili North Constituency in the Delta State House of Assembly, Hon. Barr. Frank Esenwah, and the Commissioner for Women Affairs, Community, Social and Humanitarian Development, Hon. Princess Pat Ajudua, lauded Mr. Aghado for bringing his investment back home.
They described the project as a significant contribution to the economic development of the area and called on other well-meaning Deltans to follow his example.
Earlier in his welcome address, the Managing Director of Millennium Shopping Complex and Allied Plaza, Mr. Francis Aghado, described the inauguration as the fulfillment of a long-standing vision. He stated that the complex had been thoughtfully designed to accommodate a wide range of business interests through the provision of shops of varying sizes.
Mr. Aghado added that the opening of the complex symbolized the beginning of new opportunities, stronger partnerships, and a brighter economic future for the community.
