The Governor of Delta State, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori and his Deputy, Sir Monday Onyeme have been urged to put God first in their activities for their administration to be successful.
Chaplain, Government House Chapel, Asaba, Ven. Charles Osemenam gave the admonition on Tuesday when the governor, his deputy, accompanied by their wives attended their first service at the Chapel as Governor and Deputy Governor.
Osemenam noted that fervent prayers is the greatest key to the sustenance of their administration as children of God.
Taking his text from Psalm 73:21, he noted that, the governor and his deputy should continue to pray at all times, saying that constant prayers attracts God’s connection.
With the sermon titled; ‘The Greatest Key To Our Sustenance As Children Of God’, Osemenam assured that Children of God who always pray will continue to flourish in their endeavour.
According to him; “When you don’t pray and focus on God, you lose grip of situations, but when you depend on God by always praying, you begin to flourish and God in His wisdom will continue to protect and uplift you”.
“Your Excellences, i want to assure you that the greatest key to our sustenance as children of God is prayer.
“In seeking God’s direction as to piloting the affairs of the State, you must be committed to praying so as to be connected to God”.
He added that they should avoid doing things that will hinder their prayer life.
“In order to sustain our prayer life, we must do away with things that will hinder our prayer life; we need to cut off any relationship and activities that will deprive us from praying fervently and seeking the face of God.
“To pray always is good, it propels God to always reach and look out to you when you live a prayer life; prayer helps us not to rely on our senses, rather with prayer we are telling God that we depend on Him.
“Prayer put off temptation and makes us to be victorious.
“A christian that prays always is hardly in doubt; prayer enable God to connect to us, it help us to know the mind of God.”
The brief church service which was well attended featured thanksgiving.
