The Executive Chairman of Udu Local Government Area, Olorogun Vincent Ogheneruemu Oyibode, has issued a clarion call to all civil servants and political appointees within the local government to exhibit a renewed sense of dedication and commitment in their service to the people.
Speaking during a morning fellowship held at the Chapel within the council premises, the Chairman stressed the importance of sincerity, discipline, and focus in the discharge of public duties. He cautioned against indulging in pretentious lifestyles and urged all government functionaries to uphold the virtues of integrity and professionalism.
“Public service is not a place for eye service or gossip,” Oyibode asserted. “Anyone who is truly serious about their responsibilities will not waste time on irrelevant matters. A man with a vision for success avoids idle talk and focuses on results.”
Commending the leadership of the Delta Steel Company (DSC) for fostering peace and progress in the area, the Chairman highlighted the importance of synergy between community stakeholders and the government as the bedrock of sustainable development.
Olorogun Oyibode further used the opportunity to address the issue of moral decline in society, urging parents and guardians to play active roles in shaping the character of their children. “We must all rise to the responsibility of building a morally upright society. It starts from the home,” he advised.
Reiterating his administration’s commitment to transparency, productivity, and people-oriented leadership, Oyibode called on residents of Udu to unite and support the efforts of his team towards building a better and more progressive local government.
