The State Resident Pastor of Living Faith Church, Effurun, Delta State, Pastor Adekunle Shiyanbade, has commended Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, for his infrastructural strides across the state, while urging residents to continually seek God’s divine direction in their personal and collective pursuits.
Delivering a sermon titled “Understanding the Benefits of Following Divine Direction” during Sunday service, Pastor Shiyanbade drew inspiration from Psalm 100:3, reminding the congregation that “we are God’s people, and we are what we are because of His grace. By Him we live, and by Him we have our being.”
He prayed for peace, blessings, and progress in Delta State, asking God to make the state a frontline example among the comity of states in Nigeria.
Quoting Isaiah 48:17, Pastor Shiyanbade stressed that divine direction is key to making meaningful progress in life. “When God guides you, you experience promotion, peace, provisions, protection, and fulfillment of purpose. With His word, your wilderness turns into greatness, and your life flows like a spring that never fails,” he said.
According to him, securing divine guidance ensures believers enjoy supernatural restoration, stress-free living, and abundant supplies.
He cautioned that misdirection could be costly, likening it to “swimming against the tide,” where one wrong step can destroy an entire investment.
Highlighting the Keys to Covenant Financial Fortune, the cleric urged Christians to be spiritually minded, uphold integrity, and commit themselves to both work and generosity.
“Financial fortune is not for the lazy. When you work, you earn, and whatever you lay your hands upon shall prosper. Inside the work of your hands, your blessings will flow,” he declared.
Governor Sheriff Oborevwori attended the service in the company of the Deputy Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Arthur Akpowowo and other top government functionaries.
