ELDERLY women of Emevor Kingdom, known as Ewheya of Emevor, Isoko North Local Government Area of Delta State have offered prayers for the administration of Governor Ifeanyi Okowa.
The women also prayed for the Governor’s Executive Assistant, Health Monitoring, Chief. Dr. Pharm. Nelson Eseoghene Ejakpovi, observing that they have brought smiles to their faces.
They stated that Governor Okowa has done well in placing their children in positions which has impacted positively on their lives while his developmental projects are also, evident in their community.
It was at a party organised for the women by former Vice Chairman of Isoko North Local Government Area, Hon. Joy Oke-Oghene Okor at the residence of the eldest woman, known as the Okpako-Ewheya of Emevor, Mrs. Comfort Idoni.
Speaking at the occasion, the spokeswoman of the Ewheya, Mrs. Christiana Kama noted that the benevolence of Hon. Okor was unprecedented as she has continued to empower the women and assist the elderly even after leaving office.
She commended Governor Okowa for having good democrats working with him, noting that Dr. Ejakpovi too, has encouraged Hon. Okor in her philanthropic nature.
“Dr. Ejakpovi is our son and we are very proud of him; he did a lot for us during the Christmas, again hosting the women to a party, is not unconnected to his kind nature”, she said.
When reached on phone for his comment, Dr Ejakpovi said, “if our Governor has touched positively the lives of Deltans no matter their location, in our own little ways, we should continue to put smiles on the faces of our people and deepen the strength of our party, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) at the grassroots level.”
It was not the first time that Hon. Okor was organising such an event for the elderly.
