The Emevor Community in Isoko North Local Government Area of Delta State has congratulated its illustrious son, Dr. Jonathan Oniovosa Ososuakpor, on his appointment as a Non-Executive Director of Fidelity Bank Plc.

President-General of Emevor Progress Union, Chief Emmanuel Erezih, in a statement issued on Tuesday, described Ososuakpor’s appointment as well deserved, citing his outstanding contributions to the banking industry spanning over four decades.

Erezih, who also serves as Executive Assistant to the Governor of Delta State on Beautification, said the appointment was a testament to Ososuakpor’s dedication, professionalism and commitment to excellence in the financial services sector.

He noted that the Emevor community was proud of the accomplished banker, adding that his appointment to the board of one of Nigeria’s leading financial institutions would further inspire younger generations in the community to pursue excellence in their chosen careers.

Fidelity Bank Plc had announced the appointment in a press release dated May 25, 2026, stating that Ososuakpor’s appointment took effect from May 22, 2026.

The bank said the appointment had received the approval of the Central Bank of Nigeria, while notices had also been communicated to the Securities and Exchange Commission, Nigeria Deposit Insurance Corporation and Financial Reporting Council of Nigeria.

The bank further highlighted Ososuakpor’s extensive banking experience spanning over 40 years across credit and marketing, retail banking, consumer and commercial banking, public sector banking, banking operations and risk management.

Ososuakpor commenced his banking career in 1983 with Union Bank of Nigeria Plc and subsequently worked with notable financial institutions including former Gateway Bank, Oceanic Bank, Ecobank Nigeria Plc and Intercontinental Bank Plc, now Access Bank Plc.

Prior to his retirement in July 2025, he served as Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of AMJU Unique Microfinance Bank Limited, a position he held from 2012.

Beyond banking, Ososuakpor has also held strategic leadership positions, including Chairman of Universal Finance Consult and Investment Limited and V-Capital Consulting Limited, while currently serving as Chairman of Top Rank Oil Services Limited.

An accomplished academic and risk management expert, Ososuakpor holds degrees in Banking and Finance, Economics and Business Administration from the University of Benin, Delta State University and Bangor University, Wales, United Kingdom.

Erezih expressed confidence that Ososuakpor would bring his wealth of experience and expertise to bear in advancing Fidelity Bank’s strategic objectives while continuing to make Emevor community proud.
