MEMBERS of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Ndokwa West chapter, have resolved to work towards producing the highest number of votes in forthcoming elections.

At a meeting held at Kwale, Ndokwa West Local Government Area of Delta State on Friday presided by the Chairman of the party in the area, Ogbuefi Lucky Okuji, members of the party asserted that the local government has what it takes to deliver the highest number of votes in the state.

Some of those who spoke at the meeting include the Secretary of the party in Delta State,  Engr. Dan Ossai,  Hon. Ossai N. Ossai,  Chief Monday Onyeme,  Hon. Aneke Ifemeni, Major Babs Agali (rtd), Chief Johnson Opone, Barr. Leonard Anoka,  Chief Tony Ezuku, Chief Felix Olofu, Chief Charles Izege, Chief Solomon Egwuenu, among others.

“Let us continue to work in unity to produce the highest number of votes in forthcoming elections; it is achievable; it is possible that Ndokwa West can emerge as number one with the highest number of votes.

“What we have to do is to encourage our people to enable them register with the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to enable them vote.

“We should continue with our empowerment programmes; every political appointee should be involved in empowering the people, no matter the ways it is done.

“Every empowerment must be done with clear mind,” Chief Onyeme said.

Engr. Dan Ossai, said people should be mobilised to register because registration will boost the strength of the area in elections.

He used the opportunity to inform the people that the only vacant position to be contested for by Deltans in the October 30 and 31 convention of the party is Assistant National Organising Secretary.

He urged the people not to waver in their support for the party, stating, “We will be meeting monthly and every political appointee must support the party; this is the time for politics and there should be equity in empowerment.”

Hon. Ossai N. Ossai said, “let us be meeting more regularly; we should continue to empower members of our party and as we prepare for elections, we should look up to our governor for directions.”

Chief Felix Olofu, who was in the All Progressives Congress (APC), asserted, “there is nothing APC can do to uproot PDP in Delta State; opposition political parties cannot do anything in Delta; be serious with the registration process as such will ensure that our people will be eligible to vote.”

Also, Barr. Leo Anoka, stated, “there is need for unity for us to win elections; we should go back to our Wards and work,” while Hon. Aneke Ifemeni used the opportunity to urge members of the party to key into agricultural programmes of government.

Earlier, Chairman of the party in the area, Ogbuefi Lucky Okuji said, “I am impressed with the turnout of people, presence of leaders is evident that PDP is a party we can be proud of any day.

“I thank you for the support for our Governor, Sen. Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa which has made us to be talking about stronger Delta.

“We are here to tell ourselves the truth,  what we are getting right and what we are doing wrong.

“We should take voters registration serious because most of our people are not ready to pay transport to the local government headquarter for registration.

“We should encourage our people who are more than 18 years and above to go for registration.

“Thank you for the level of unity that exists among our people in the PDP; our members are very strong, though the opposition political party is making noise, we are happy with the strength of our party.”

Most of those who spoke at the occasion,  stated that efforts should be made for Ndokwa West to produce the highest number of votes in forthcoming elections as the area has the population.
