According to Mayuku, all Rivers United players and officials have undertaken the mandatory COVID-19 test ahead of the match.

“The results of the test expected to be released today will determine those who are free to embark on the tip to Equatorial Guinea for the 1st leg tie.

He also said that the Club’s General Manager, Okey Kpalukwu, expected the team to secure a decent result.

“The General Manager said that the support from the Rivers Government, the high spirit and winning mentality exhibited by the team in the build up to the game are expected to boost the team to secure a good result.

“Kpalukwu also assured that the team’s mission “is go there and get a decent result; we want to make the 2nd leg as easy as possible for us,” Mayuku said.
