Community Secondary School, Ufuma Gets World-Class Buildings

BID Engineering and Contractors have erected modern school buildings at the Community Secondary School, Ufuma, Orumba North Local Government Area, Anambra State.

The Project Coordinator for the project, Mr. Okey Ezekwelu, explained that the school project was a Community Service Responsibility (CSR) Project undertaken by Total Upstream Nigeria Ltd.

He also said that Total Upstream engaged in education, health, and physically challenged projects as its contribution to National development.

Ezekwelu made the disclosure while being interviewed by newsmen shortly after he took the Commissioner for Basic Education, Anambra State, Prof. Kate Omenugha, round the school structures at Ufuma.

According to him, the community school was one of the schools randomly selected by the company from the South East and the first in Anambra State as beneficiary of Total Upstream Nigeria Ltd., CSR Project.

He explained that the new school buildings were erected based on globally acceptable standards to provide comfortable learning atmosphere for the students.

Ezekwelu added that the school buildings included an administrative block, 12 classroom blocks, Library, Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Centre and a Sick Bay.

Other facilities on the school premises are 20 toilet facilities, Physics, Chemistry, Biology and Intro Tech Laboratories, and Generator House, which houses functional big electricity generating set.

He noted that each classroom would have capacity to seat 50 students.

Prof. Kate Omenugha expressed joy at the completion of the building and commended Total Upstream Nigeria Ltd., for executing the project.
