RT Hon Elder Sheriff Oborevwori ( JP) the Executive Governor of Delta State, has added another feather to his cap as he was honoured on Friday, February 27, 2026, with the prestigious Leadership Action Award by the Centre for Convention on Democratic Integrity (CCDI) for his unwavering commitment to peace, justice, and the strengthening of democratic institutions.
The award, presented in recognition of the Governor’s reform-driven leadership style, underscores his administration’s consistent efforts to build strong institutions, promote transparency, and deepen democratic values across Delta State.
Reacting to the honour, Senior Aide to the Governor, Hon. Dr. Hope George, described the recognition as well deserved, noting that it is only one among several awards Governor Oborevwori has received within his three years in office.
According to Hon DR Hope George, the Governor’s growing list of accolades is a direct reflection of his tireless dedication to the welfare of Deltans.
“This is just one amongst the several awards His Excellency has received within these three years in office,” he said confidently.
He further declared that more recognitions will certainly follow, emphasizing that Governor Oborevwori Will continue to deliver impactful dividends of democracy on a daily basis.
“I can tell you for free that His Excellency will still receive more awards because, on a daily basis, the Governor is using the instruments of the MORE Agenda to change the narrative of the people,” he stated.
Hon DR Hope George the Senior Governor Aide stressed that the Governor’s people-oriented policies, anchored on peace, justice, and institutional stability, have positioned Delta State as a shining example of purposeful leadership and accountable governance.
Hope George used the opportunity to formally congratulate the Governor, describing him as a visionary leader whose commitment to democratic integrity will continue to attract national and international commendation.
