The Anambra State Commissioner of Police, CP Ikioye Orutugu, has issued a strong warning to cultists and criminal elements, reaffirming the Command’s zero-tolerance stance on activities that threaten public safety.

CP Orutugu led a high profile anti-cultism walk and advocacy rally in Awka, accompanied by Police officers, key stakeholders, and residents.

He stressed that the Command will take firm and decisive action against anyone involved in cult-related violence or criminal activities, noting that offenders will be relentlessly pursued and brought to justice.

Kingsley Ezika, the Governor’s Special Adviser on Security and Anti-Cultism; the POCACOV Chairman, Comrade Surveyor Emeka Obi; and the Managing Director of ASWAMA, Chief Mike Ozoemena.

All pledged their full support for the initiative. Transport unions, including keke and bus drivers, also participated, committing to sustained advocacy and the provision of real-time intelligence to help eradicate cultism.

CP Orutugu reiterated the Command’s commitment to deploying all lawful measures to prevent crime, arrest perpetrators, and ensure the safety of lives and property in Anambra State.

He called on parents, community leaders, religious bodies, transport unions, and youth groups to partner with the Police by guiding young people away from criminal activities and promptly reporting suspicious movements.
