Delta Govt. Releases 2025 Basic Education Certificate Examination Resit Results

The Delta State Government has released the results of the resit examination for the 2025 Basic Education Certificate Examination conducted across the state a month ago.

A statement from the State Commissioner for Secondary Education, Mrs. Rose Ezewu advised the candidates that sat for the resit examination to collect scratch card from their various schools and check their results online with it .

According to Ezewu, the resit examination was for only candidates who could not secure a minimum of pass in either Mathematics , English Studies or both Mathematics and English Studies.

The statement reiterated that candidates are expected to pass Mathematics, English Studies and any other four subjects to be able to proceed to the senior secondary class , otherwise known as SS1.

Ezewu said that a total of 8,291 candidates registered for the resit examination which was conducted on September 20, 2025 while 5,656 sat for the examination.

While saying that a total of 2,635 candidates were absent during the resit examination, Ezewu disclosed that 5,516 candidates representating 69% passed and 140 candidates failed .

She commended the Director of Examinations in the Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education, Mrs. Clementina Ojumah and the staff of the Examination department for their unwavering commitment towards smooth conduct of examinations and timely release of results.

Ezewu stated that the Examination Department was a very important department in the Ministry, noting that the department had continued to deliver effectively.

The Commissioner, however, urged the affected candidates to check their results as quickly as possible to ascertain their level of performance and know whether they are to repeat JS3 class or proceed to SS1 class.
