Delta State Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has congratulated Deltans, especially the Christian folk, as they celebrate this year’s Christmas to commemorate the birth of our Lord Jesus Christ.

A statement by Dr. Ifeanyi Osuoza, State Publicity Secretary, Delta State PDP, rejoiced with the Christian community in the spirit of the yuletide and charged Deltans to emulate and embrace a Christlike life of simplicity and fortitude in all their endeavours.

“These are indeed very trying times for many of our people, but the celebration of the birth of our saviour Jesus Christ, has given us another opportunity to embrace and imbibe the Christlike virtues of simplicity and fortitude in our lives and activities, as we navigate through this harsh period with the great expectations that things will be much better in the New Year.

“We urge all Deltans to see the festive yuletide season as a period for sober reflections and the renewal of our commitment towards enhancing and sustaining the peaceful understanding, unity and harmonious coexistence with our fellow brothers and sisters, which are necessary in the face of the prevailing economic challenges in the country.

“Christmas is a time to also make merry and we urge Deltans to enjoy responsibly and also remember to be their brothers’ keeper, put a smile on the faces of your neighbours in need, and extend a warm loving hand of fellowship to the less-privileged in the society, just as the Lord Jesus Christ did in the scriptures.

“Once again we wish all Deltans a Merry Christmas.”

Dr. Ifeanyi M. Osuoza,
State Publicity Secretary,
PDP, Delta State.
