THE Executive Secretary, Delta State Micro, Small and Medium Enterprise Development Agency, Hon. Orezi Esievo has said, Delta State Government is determined to create the enabling environment for small business owners to better the economy of the state.
Esievo, spoke at the graduation ceremony and distribution of starter packs to 26 trainees of Akwa- Ocha production in the State.
The Executive Secretary said the 26 trainees who cut across the eight Local Government Area of Delta North were the lucky ones picked from over one hundred and fifty persons who indicated interest.
She added that batch of trainees were trained as trainers who would teach others.
While emphasizing the need for the Akwa-Ocha trainees to be focused, Orezi advised them to be consistent in their business for sustainability.
Earlier, the consultant, Akwa-Ocha production in the state, Mrs. Oreva Okowa stated that consistency and perseverance is the medicine to success. She threw light on the cycle of business with introductory and maturity stages adding that most businesses crumbles at the introductory stage because of lack of patience.
Giving the vote of thanks, one of the trainees, Miss Henrietta Nwose promised that they would not fail the Delta State Government, stressing that they would put into practice all they were taught to change their story and better the economy.
