EDO GUBER UPDATE: No More Dissenting Voice In South South – Ezechi
THE Executive Assistant to Governor Ifeanyi Okowa of Delta State on Youths Development, Hon. Nnamdi Ezechi, has described the re-election of Godwin Obaseki, as good omen to the South South geo-political zone.
According to result declared by Returning Officer of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), in the Edo election held on Saturday, PDP candidate, Obaseki polled 307,955 to beat his closest rival, Osagie Ize-Iyamu, who got 223,619 votes.
Reacting to the victory, Ezechi told Newsden that the whole of South South belonged to the PDP before Edo was lost to the All Progressives Congress (APC).
“First, I want to thank our Governor, Senator (Dr.) Ifeanyi Okowa for believing that Delta and Edo are inseparable twins.
“The victory of Obaseki is a victory for Delta State and the whole of South South.
“We cannot forget in haste that due to the unity that existed in the South South as a region that belonged to one political family, we were able to fight for resource control, positioned ourselves politically which gave us the Vice President and later, the President.
“The people of Edo State did the right thing, they voted for continuous development, peace and they voted for progress,” Ezechi said.
