The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) confirmed Tuesday that its air units, operating under the Northern Command, struck significant Hezbollah infrastructure across southern Lebanon overnight. The operation is part of an ongoing, concerted effort to counter and dismantle the terror organization’s ability to rearm and launch attacks.
The focus of the latest attack was a major training complex specifically utilized by the Radwan Force, Hezbollah’s commando unit. The IDF reported that the facility was actively used for comprehensive weapons training and live-fire exercises, serving as a critical staging ground for the planning and execution of terrorist plots targeting Israeli citizens and military forces. In addition to the training site, several other military structures and a missile launch position were also successfully neutralized during the operation.
The IDF’s campaign has been consistent in recent days:
- Last Sunday: Troops destroyed a terror tunnel shaft, which included stockpiles of mortar rounds intended for use against Israel, alongside a separate weapons warehouse.
- Last Friday: A targeted strike successfully eliminated multiple Hezbollah weapons caches embedded in civilian areas near Jibaa and Mahrouna. The IDF took precautionary steps by advising residents to evacuate to at least 300 meters away from the target zones prior to the action.
The IDF’s Arabic-language spokesperson, Col. Avichay Adraee, articulated the objective of these operations, stating they are intended “to address the prohibited attempts by Hezbollah to rebuild its activities in the region.”
